To further the transparency of these changes, we have included a spreadsheet with (i) unique mutation patterns from >40,000 HIV-1 sequences, (ii) calculated estimate of susceptibility to each ARV of a class, (iii) the changes from the previous version of the algorithm to the current version. The PI spreadsheet has 3,933 unique patterns of scored mutations.

The spreadsheet has two worksheets:

  1. "Score Changes By Drug" shows only the patterns where there is a difference in score; for example, in the NNRTI spreadsheet, Rilpivirine (RPV) shows 231 rows indicating that the score of 641 drug resistance mutation patterns were left unchanged. More importantly, each row shows a mutation pattern with details on what the difference in scores is and what caused it; for example the first RPV row in the worksheet (shown below) shows the drug resistance mutation pattern "179D" a) occuring 562 times in our database, b) scoring 10 points, putting it in the second lowest resistance category, "Potential low-level resistance (2)", a one level increase from "Susceptible (1)" with a score of 5, and c) changing in levels because mutation 179D now scores 10 points.

  2. "Mutation Patterns" in the other hand shows all patterns in decreasing order of frequency with old (prefix 'o') and new (prefix 'n') drug intepretation levels.
